  • Part of a team developing the new NYT Audio app.

  • Help manage the New York Times Podcast Club Facebook group. Pick podcasts to discuss, draft questions for daily discussion, approve posts and member requests and moderate discussion.

August 2017 — August 2021: Senior News Assistant

July 2019 — November 2020: Fill-in editor of pages A2 & A3. Assigned and edited Times Insider articles. Wrote and edited copy for elements on the print pages.

  • Floating news assistant. Helped with a variety of tasks across various desks, including web production; monitoring reader feedback; producing newsletters; managing desks’ Twitter feeds; scanning for news and writing, reporting and editing.

  • Wrote articles for various desks and back stories for the Daily Briefing.

Moultrie News — December 2015-June 2017

  • Reporter/copy editor for the Moultrie News, a weekly community newspaper covering an area near Charleston, S.C. Covered three communities in and near Charleston. Wrote one to four stories a week and took photos and video.

  • Edited all articles in the paper and on the website for grammar, style and content. Helped oversee the layout of the paper, including proofing pages.

  • Was responsible for posting on social media (Facebook and Twitter daily, plus Instagram)

Radio Boston, WBUR — January 2015-July 2015

  • Boston University fellow at WBUR

  • Worked with Radio Boston as a producer. Wrote scripts, pre-interviewed guests, did research, pitched stories, handled guest logistics, found photos, and wrote assets for the web.

Living on Earth — June 2014-December 2014

  • Production intern for the environmental public radio show Living On Earth. Produced an interview a week. Spearheaded a project to feature listener essays; chose candidates, screened them over the phone, recorded test readings. Reported and wrote three radio stories that aired nationally.

Thompson Reuters Foundation — October 2013-November 2013

  • Spent eight weeks interning with the Thompson Reuters Foundation in London, writing about climate change and environmental issues, especially in the developing world

BU Quad — September 2014-May 2015

  • Senior editor, The BU Quad, a student-run online magazine. Was responsible for most editorial decisions, content editing, screening pitches and troubleshooting with writers. Wrote stories.
